"Walter Mitty" Project

Project for my BA Honours Degree in Illustration course, UK. I chose "The secret life of Walter Mitty" by J. Thurber as my short story piece. It's an interactive illustration... to show the transformation from one reality to the next, I used a slot-guided slide to operate the main picture's woven dissolve. So when Mrs Mitty is close to Walter he is anchored in a dull reality, but as she moves away he can escape as his alter-ego.

By moving Mrs Mitty in the interactive illustration along the slot guided slide from left...

... to right, operates the picture's woven dissolve...

...and reveals a new image.
